Mexico Promotes Tianguis Turistico 2012

With significant participation on the part of Mexico’s Federal Secretary of Tourism (SECTUR), Mexico has begun promoting the country’s biggest tourism fair of 2012. The Tianguis Turistico, now preparing for its 36th edition, will take place at two sites simultaneously in the adjacent destinations of Puerto Vallarta and the Riviera Nayarit.

According to Jalisco’s state tourism secretary, next year’s Tianguis Turistico is expected to attract over 1,500 buyers from around the world. This would represent a 50% increase in comparison to the events previous edition, which was hosted in Acapulco.

Mexico Tourism Board’s director, Rodolfo López Negrete, stated that overall public investment in next year’s Tianguis Turistico totaled $2.5 million USD. Officials are expecting the 2012 event to reflect renewed energy and dynamism among buyers and destinations alike.

In January, Mexico Meetings Network will publish more information on how to register for event.
