New Luxury Hotels Open in Mexico City

Two of Latin America's strongest hotel players have opened new locations in Mexico City.

Starwood Resorts, which operates 71 hotels in Latin America, has opened a Le Meridien location on Paseo de la Reforma, in the heart of Mexico City's financial and cultural district. In additional to traditional luxury amenities such as a gym, pool, and restaurant, the hotel features the brand's new "Le Meridian Hub" concept, in which a traditional lobby is transformed into a social space for conversation, debate and exchange. Artwork and coffee service figure prominently in the Hub experience. The hotel has 160 suites.

Live Aqua, the Cancun resort operated by Fiesta Americanaa, has also set up stakes in Mexico City. Unlike its coastal sister, Live Aqua Bosques in Mexico City is a room-only rate facility.Located in the city's upscale Bosques de las Lomas neighborhood, the hotel has a modern restaurant, business center, and wi-fi lounge. Rooms range from standard to apartment-sized suites outfitted with Jacuzzis. Bosques de la Lomas is close to Mexico City's Santa Fe district, home to Expo Bancomer, many corporate headquarters, shopping malls and restaurants.
